I LOVE My Camera!

Em crawled under Daddy's folding chair while company was over. We were amazed at her ability to contort herself to get out!

Our friend, Kalli

One of Emma's hilarious facial expressions. It's even better in person.

Don't worry. All the burners were off.

Stir Fry

Tonight I watched Emma eating stir fry out of her Daddy's hand. She especially liked the rice noodles -- grabbing bunches of them and slurping them through her lips! It was particularly cute. I will count us very lucky if our child appreciates the foods that we eat. She actually consumed all of her pineapple at daycare today. She's never eaten more than just one piece before! And baked beans, too. It was a winner of a day.

We had a fun evening together, the three of us. We played for awhile in the guest room while Jon was copying off resumes and cover letters to send out to several district superintendents. If we got caught up fiddling with the printer, or were talking to each other about something -- not her -- it wasn't long before she would demand our attention! At one point she wanted her diaper changed... so that she could get her pants and diaper off and run around in blissful nakedness. That's my theory, at least, since the moment the diaper comes off she turns into a crazy baby and does everything possible to evade re-diapering!

Em and I are both getting over colds. That's minor, though, considering that Emma's friend, Kalli, is suffering from croup.

Finally, New Photos

Emma likes to sip bath water

I love that you can see the bath water moving
Em had fun at George & Judy's, playing with Gwynn

This is a VERY old toy that Judy had in her basement

After her nap, Emma didn't want to get out of her crib. I stripped her down and she played in her crib naked for quite awhile.

Daddy slides Emma down the banister and she LOVES it!

Watching something together...probably football!

I don't think Em was feeling so well that day...

JON GOT THE JOB!!!

Yup, that's right. My husband is employed again. He starts at the cemetary on Monday. In case I didn't explain it before, he will be a Family Services Counselor, helping people to determine what they need to close out their lives (or a loved one's). Yes, it is a sales position, but the nature of it is much different than, say, someone working at the mall. His ministry background should come in handy as he deals with grieving families. Ahhhh....the return to financial stability, here we come.

Got the new camera and am trying to figure out how to use it. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to snap photos of Em in natural light since I really only get to see her at the end of the day. I'm looking forward to the weekend when I can fiddle more and catch her at home while she plays.

Well, that's all I have time for right now. Just wanted to share the good news.

New Camera Coming

Well, I'm super excited to share that we will be getting a new camera soon which should yield much better quality photos of our daughter. I know you've all noticed the shortage of photos on the blog....it's because I haven't been taking very many! I've been so frustrated with how poorly indoor pictures turn out -- my flash isn't strong enough, or else it creates shadows -- and the weather isn't exactly prime for getting outdoor shots. Anyhow, you will hopefully get to see much more of the Peach in the near future.

I haven't seen it for myself yet, but Jon says Emma stood up for the first time on her own yesterday. What I mean by this....she was sitting on the middle of the living room floor and got to a standing position without any assistance. I guess she'll practice it, too. Jon yelled for me this morning to come see -- jerked me out of a dream-sleep -- and then she quit doing it by the time I stumbled downstairs. Maybe someday soon I'll behold this step of maturity with my own eyes.

Emma's hair is driving me crazy right now. It hangs in her eyes, not long enough to tuck behind an ear or even just stay to the side on itself. And she won't leave a barrette in her hair unless we majorly distract her with something else while I put one in. Even if we succeed, she can't wear barrettes at daycare. UGGGHHH! Forget about headbands, too. I just want to see her pretty eyes! I hope we don't have a battle during the teenage years of her wanting to wear her hair down over her face, as so many seem to.

That's all for now. More when photos are available.
