Green Beans are a Hit!

Well, she loves green beans. In fact, the jar is completely gone. I hate to think of what her diaper is going to look like when the beans finally work their way through! We're planning to have green beans ourselves tomorrow night with dinner. I think I'll break out the food mill and grind some of them up for Emma in our first attempt at homemade baby food.

I'm somewhat on the mend. I'm not struggling so much with drainage STUCK at the back of my sinuses, but I am coughing more, which caused my ribcage to hurt all the more. I've been taking some Motrin to try to alleviate some of the stress. I have more energy and went on a bit of a cleaning spree this afternoon and evening...something much needed after a few days of being out of commission. Jon made an incredible stir fry tonight with chicken, veggies & rice noodles, but after living on Saltine crackers and popsicles for the last 2 days, my stomach doth protest! Guess I might end up losing those last few baby pounds after all.

Em and I will be making a trip to Virginia at the end of this month to visit my parents. We're looking forward to it. I started making my list of what to pack -- and it's actually TWO lists -- Emma's stuff and mine. Quite amazing how many things have to be considered....washcloths, bath towels, bottle warmer, pump equipment, gas drops, Tylenol, Orajel, burp cloths (just in case), multiple outfits for each day, cereal, spoons, blankets, toys.... My hope is to fit everything into one suitcase. I think I can travel fairly light since the trip will span only 5 days and I'm reasonably sure I won't soil myself!!! Shorts, t-shirts, underwear, sneakers, flip flops, and toiletries. We just have to keep it under 50 lbs. Hey, Mom....think you could pick up a bottle brush? Not really a very sanitary item to travel with, or I'd bring ours. If possible, one with a tiny brush attachment to fit inside the nipple-tip (I know Munchkin makes one you can get at Target....is your Target open yet?) Ooooo...I'm getting itchy to get up and GO!!! Jon is going to miss us....especially Emma. Wish he could travel with us, but he's got to work.

Enough for now.
